Research Toolkits Overview
Research Toolkits is a self-service portal for researchers to access and manage their Research Computing allocations. Once provisioned, it organizes research computing resources (computing, tools, and storage) into projects to help researchers transparently manage and access those resources.
Features for Project Owners:
- Visible inventory of reseach computing resources and available allocations
- Add/remove user access to resources directly
- Elevate users to project administrators so they can operate on your behalf
- Monitor resource utilization
- Prompted trainings and attestations with detailed log data to support adminstrative reporting and audit
- Email notifications for project renewals and resource events
Additionally, all project members can see resources they have access to, get quick access to them, and contact support directly for help.
Need to know
- Faculty members and Doctoral candidates at Duke University automatically have access to claim some resource allocations in Research Toolkits via self-service. Some services like DCC lab groups, or fee-based resources, will require a request to the research computing team for intial setup.
- Projects require annual renewal and cannot be maintained without a designated project administrator.
