ποΈ Copying Data from Your Local Computer to the PNR
You can copy data from your local computer into the Protected Network for Research (PNR) by using the built-in clipboard interface. This process allows for one-way data entry while preventing data from being copied back out of the PNR environment.
π Step-by-Step Instructions
- Highlight the data on your local computer that you want to copy, then right-click on the selection.

- In the context menu, left-click on βCopy.β

- Inside the PNR virtual environment, locate the small arrow icon on the left-hand side of the screen. Left-click to open the control bar.

- In the control bar, left-click the third icon from the top (Clipboard).

- In the clipboard text box that opens:
- Right-click inside the box
- Then left-click on βPasteβ
Note: Keyboard shortcuts like
Ctrl + VorCmd + Vwill not work. You must use right-click to paste content from your local computer.

- You should now see your copied data appear in the clipboard text box.

- Highlight the data inside the clipboard box, then right-click and select βCopy.β

- Navigate to the location in the PNR where you want the data to be placed, then right-click in the window and select βPaste.β

- Your data should now appear inside the destination application or file.

π Important Restrictions
- You cannot copy data out of the PNR environment.
- To export results securely, please use the Results Export process.
π Clipboard Source Behavior
The clipboard system prioritizes whichever clipboard was last written to β either from your local computer or from within the PNR:
- If you paste content into the shared clipboard, that will be used the next time you paste into the PNR.
- If you copy content inside the PNR, that becomes the active clipboard content.
- To switch back to using the shared clipboard:
- Clear and re-edit the clipboard contents.
- This resets the paste source to your local computer.
