Screen Resizing Guide

If your PNR desktop looks oversized, undersized, or letterboxed in the browser, this guide walks you through switching the VM's Scaling Mode to Remote Resizing so your virtual desktop matches your screen and is remembered between sessions.

Using Google Chrome as your browser is recommended for the best experience.

Step 1: Launch Your VM

From your project page, press the Launch Desktop button for your VM:

Step 2: Adjust Scaling Mode

After launching into the Protected Network for Research, your screen may appear oversized or undersized if the Scaling Mode is set to None or Local Scaling.

To fix this:

  1. Open the sleeve (left sidebar) by clicking this button: Open Sleeve

  2. Click the Settings (sprocket) icon: Settings

  3. Under Scaling Mode, open the dropdown and select Remote Resizing.

  4. Close the PN for Research tab at the top of your browser (click the X on the safer-proconsul tab).

  5. Relaunch your VM by pressing the Launch Desktop button again:

Step 3: Confirm the Screen Resizing

Your screen should now appear correctly sized, and the Remote Resizing setting will be remembered in future sessions:
